About Siddha Medical Education
To become a Siddha Professional one should have a Graduate Degree(BSMS).The Graduate Degree Specializations are Pharmacist,Gynecolist,Teacher,Practitioner etc… and Duration of this Course is Four and Half Year with One Year Internship. The PG(M.D) Courses are offered in six Specialties and these Course Duration is Three Year.
The courses in siddha medicine and surgery are offered only by the colleges in Kerala and Tamilnadu. Now, we are studying siddha profession in our country.Out of these institutions, one siddha medical college is in the state of Kerala and it is affiliated to the Kerala University and the rest of them are in Tamilnadu which are affiliated to the Tamilnadu M.G.R University. Admissions for this course are purely on the basis of the common entrance test conducted by the respective state governments.
