MBBS in the Philippines Course Details
The medical course in the Philippines can be divided into two parts.
- BS (Bachelor of Science)
- MD (Doctor of Medicine)
BS (Bachelor of Science)
The BS course is about 1.5 or 2 years depending on the college or the University you get your admission at.
This course is used as a foundation for the upcoming MD course. The Philippines follows the American standard of education curriculum. This makes it mandatory for the students to complete this BS course before the MD course.
MD (Doctor of Medicine)
The MD course is about 4 years long. This is where you will learn and train almost everything in the medical field. From basics to advanced clinical clerkship this course will take you 4 long years to finish.
The last years of the MD program is where the clinical internship takes place. This is the period where the students will be getting hands-on training around a real working hospital.
