FMGE

The FMGE exam is a national level exam conducted by the MCI now known as NMC exclusively for foreign medical graduates. This entrance exam is conducted to check the quality of the foreign graduate and check if the graduate process enough skills to be posted as a Doctor in India. The FMGE exam comprises of two parts and it is conducted in a single day. The exam is conducted in English. There is no negative marks in FMGE and all the questions asked are multiple choice questions.

FMGE is divided into two parts of 150 questions each with time allocation of 150 minutes for each part. Candidates are advised to report at the reporting counter 2 Hours prior to the exam starting time. Before 30 minutes of the exam staring time the reporting counter is closed. If the candidates fail to report at the center before the closing time the candidate is not allowed to write the exam. 150 marks is the pass mark out of 300. The results are published in official websites. There is no re-evaluation available for FMGE exams. There is no minimum number of attempts to qualify in the FMGE exam.

HOW TO APPLY FOR FMGE

The candidate will be asked to upload the scanned copies of original documents while completing the online application form. In case multiple pages are to be uploaded for any document, please scan them as a single pdf file.

 

  • Copy of MBBS Degree certificate/provisional pass certificate in (English only) attested by the Indian Embassy must be uploaded. In case if the papers are not produced within the given time the through any means the admit card will not be provided or issued.
  • Upload the MCI eligibility certificate 
  • Valid passport of the applicant must be uploaded focusing the first and the last pages. If the student is from a country like Nepal they can upload their Aadhar card or Drivers license.

The candidates who fail to upload the following will be not be eligible for the examination and will not e issued with an admit card.

Students who have applied for the previous year FMGE and have not qualified must also resubmit their document if they are willing to write the exam again. Previous FMGE roll no. must be provided during application process for these candidates.

Candidate needs to note that the following documents may also be asked by NBE to be submitted at any time, if any doubt arises during the determination of eligibility of the candidate.

 

  • Copy of Address Proof 
  • Latest Passport size Photographs 
  • Copy of Date of Birth Proof 
  • Copy of 10+2 passing certificate.
  • Copy of 10+2 mark sheet.
  • Copy of internship certificate 
  • Copy of fail certificate/ result for Ex-candidates.
  • Equivalence Certificate: From Association of Indian Universities. If the candidate has done his 10 or +2 abroad.

 

 

How to get FMGE admit card

During the FMGE application process the candidate has the freedom to choose the city where he or she wants to attend the FMGE exam. The centers are assigned on first come first serve basis. When the candidate applies for FMGE in online mode only the available exam centers are displayed for them to choose. While the student has the freedom to choose the exam center the final allotment can be only done by the NBE. NBE (National Board of Examinations) will make all efforts to ensure that the candidate is allotted a testing center in the State of correspondence address of the candidate. In case testing seat is not available in the concerned State due to logistic, administrative and other reasons, testing center in a nearby State shall be allocated. Such candidates shall be informed about their testing city by a certain date.

If the Application process is successful then the candidate who has applied for the exam will receive an acknowledgement from the authority to their personal mail ID. Admit cards will be provided to the candidates by the NBE if the online registration is successful. Proper SMS or mail will be sent to the candidates informing them about the admit card downloads. The candidates must download the admit card from the website and affix a passport size photograph of them with it.

Non-Disclosure Agreement between the National Board of Examinations and the Candidate

There is a Non Disclosure Agreement that the NBE specifies a candidate to follow:

 

a) FMGE is a proprietary examination and is conducted only by National Board of Examinations. The contents of this exam are confidential, proprietary and are owned by National Board of Examinations. NBE explicitly prohibits the candidate from publishing, reproducing or transmitting any or some contents of this exam, in whole or in part, in any form or by any means verbal or written, electronic or mechanical or for any purpose.

 

b) No content of this exam must be shared with friends, acquaintances or third parties including sharing through online means or via social media. Social media includes but not limited to SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, Hangouts, Blogs etc. using either one’s own account or proxy account(s).

 

c) By registering for and /or appearing in FMGE the candidate explicitly agrees to the above Non Disclosure Agreement and general terms of use. Hence, violation of any act or breach of the same shall be liable for penal action and cancellation of the candidature at the bare threshold.

In short the above lines explain that the student must not disclose any details about the exams or its resources to third party, friends or acquaintances  under any circumstances or any means.

FMGE Caution Notice

a) Candidates are advised to refer to FMGE website www.nbe.edu.in and Information Bulletin for authentic information and periodic updates about the FMGE.

 

b) Students are advised not to be allured by claims of any party or person or institute for qualifying FMGE examination.

 

c) NBE does not make any phone calls to any candidate or issues any communication regarding the change of rank/marks obtained in any of the exams conducted by NBE or for any other such thing which is against the provisions of law.

 

d) Candidates are cautioned not to be misled by any such false and bogus claims regarding change of marks, result or rank. Candidates are advised to bring any such information to notice of NBE by e-mail at mail@natboard.edu.in

FMGE Exam Timing Pattern

Below you can find the timings of the exams and how the FMGE 2021 will be conducted on time basis. 7 am and 12 pm are the reporting time for both the respective exams. The candidates are allowed for biometric registration at this time. The gates will be closed 30minutes before the exam starting time. Candidates who fail to report at the examination center on time will not be allowed to appear for the FMGE 2021 examination.

Medical Council of India (MCI) has the ultimate authority to issue the syllabus of FMGE 2021 for the June session with the approval of the Government of India. The FMGE syllabus is set based on the requirements to check if the candidate is eligible for further proceedings by the MCI. June 2021 Exam pattern is not yet released by the authority.
