An Indian student who has studied under 10+2 education system should enrol in tailor made BS course before enrolling for MD course. Additional credits are given to students who have completed +2 which reduces the course duration of BS course to three semesters. In short, Indian students will do BS+ MD course. This is considered as equivalent of MBBS course by Medical council of India.

The total duration of medical course is 5 and half years for Indian students who have completed class 12 with a background in science. The first 16 months is called pre-medicine program or Bachelor of Science program. The next three years comprises of core medicine and the final year comprises of clinical rotation.
